The Company:

Our client is an award-winning, full service, commercial law firm and they are rapidly developing a national reputation for its innovative approach to delivering legal services. They operate in the financial services, leisure, retail & consumer goods, technology & media, renewables, housing and public sectors. Their specialisms are real estate, banking and finance, commercial, corporate, employment, dispute resolution and litigation.

The Job:

On behalf of our client we are seeking a Conveyancing Administrator. This newly created role has arisen to due growth. Working flexible between the office and remotely, you will be acting on behalf of mortgage lenders in taking steps to enforce their security by way of possession of the mortgaged property.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for running your own caseload as driven by case management system (Solcase)
  • Dealing with complex cases as well as having your own caseload
  • Prepare witness statement and instruct agents
  • Take enforcement action
  • Set up bailiff appointments and advise client
  • Suggesting to Team Managers improvements to the system and identifying problems
  • In the absence of the Team Managers, taking responsibility with the other Senior Case Handlers and Case Handlers for ensuring that the workflows are printed and actioned together with daily post.

The Person:

For this role, our client is looking for someone who has:

  • Ideally experience in mortgage repossession action but essential is a Case Handler in financial services
  • Proven ability to run your case load to a high standard within a regulated environment
  • Proven ability to deal with complex cases, including multiple applications to adjourn proceedings/suspend execution

experience in litigation within financial services and be confident to manage a complete case load of files

As well as:

  • A good understanding of civil procedure.
  • Experienced in drafting documents, such as particulars of claim and witness statements.
  • Ideally you will have mortgage litigation experience however financial services litigation experience would also very much of interest.
  • Confident at research and interpreting cases/legislation and a competent user of Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Experience at providing structured advice to clients on a legal or procedural issue to the highest level
  • Great people skills

£27,500 - £28,500
