We find the most exciting talent in food, produce delicious hits (menus) and take them on tour to neighbourhoods across the country through our food halls and partners. We are recruiting passionate hospitality superstars that want to ensure the customers receive the best experience possible through great tasting food If you can keep you section clean, organised, stocked up and run it with a positive mind set no matter how busy we are (and we get very busy) then we would love to hear from you This role is based within our flagship landmark Food Hall on Brighton's seafront Shelter Hall is made up of 7 kitchens and 2 bars split across 2 floors, with private dining room and unbeatable outside space. Combining a fantastic choice of cuisines for our guests, all ordered through the Shelter Hall app and delivered to their table by our floor team. The New Venture Kitchens at Shelter Hall are owned and operated by Sessions. We change the brand and cuisine every few months to something new and exciting, so life never tastes dull. The team has grown in the last year from 5-15 over 3 kitchens meaning that there is always room for progression if you have the right attitude and humble approach when taking on feedback from your seniors. YOUR ROLE: - Cook menu items along with appropriate garnish following specs - To remain calm, composed and in control, even in unusual situations and foster and help build a positive working environment. - To effectively handle guest special requests. - To be attentive to service details and product quality and follow guidance as provided by senior chefs or duty managers. - To ensure a safe workplace by identifying hazards and taking corrective action. - To be knowledgeable in the proper use of all equipment - Follow and carry out day to day due diligence within the kitchen - To ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation by: - complying with all statutory regulations and best practices such as First In, First Out (FIFO) and clean as you go. - Ensuring proper food storage and handling techniques are utilised by all the kitchen team members - To undertake any training as required by legislation, the Company or line manager. - Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior employee. - Perform other duties as required or assigned including working in a different department or restaurant, than usually assigned.
