Copper Installation Engineer

We are looking for people who have worked in the telecoms industry as Installation Engineers for Openreach, Gigaclear, Virgin Media O2, Hyperoptic, Cityfibre, Sky etc, with experience working at heights and in the telecommunications industry.

Working on a copper cable customer install project we will provide initial upskilling/training and are able to offer the right candidates long term career progression over several years.

Job Requirements

• Driving to customers houses and premises
• Liaising with customers to ensure installations can take place
• Adhering to Health and Safety legislation
• Working at height - climbing ladders safely
• Working in underground telecommunications chambers and in street cabinets
• Installing copper cable to customer premises
• Installing a network connection point in customer premises
• Explaining the new connection to customers and ensuring they are fully satisfied

You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence:

• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• Must be over 21 years of age (for company vehicle insurance)
• Confident working at height and in underground network
• Excellent communication skills
• Hold a valid NRSWA street works Operative unit 2 card (desirable)
• Hold or have held PIA accreditations (desirable)
• Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety practices.

Contract Duration & Rates

This is a long-term contract role and you will be paid for the jobs you complete, see below estimations of jobs and earnings (Once trained we would expect people to be achieving a minimum of 4 copper jobs per day or a blend of copper installs with MI & SI jobs)

• This role comes with a fuel card, Van, Tools / Equipment and Training if required.

• Estimated earnings for experienced Engineers £35k+ per annum

Full training will be provided (Training to be undertaken at Risby – near Bury St Edmunds or Crawley)

• When on training you will be paid £80 per day (+ mileage)
• When buddying you will be paid £90 per day (+ mileage)
• If you have accreditations already from working at MJ Quinn or Kelly’s, we should be able to reduce the training to 1 week depending on what accreditations you hold.
