Big Job – Bigger Opportunity – Lasting Legacy
Here at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), we believe a financially healthy nation is good for individuals, communities, businesses and the economy. As the largest single funder of free debt advice in England we helped well over a million people with debt advice, money guidance and pension guidance over the last year. We’re looking for people who have the right skills, knowledge and behaviours for the job, but equally as important is a strong commitment to our objectives, values and vision. We passionately care about transforming lives and want this to drive everything we do as an organisation.
In successful organisations, risk, compliance and assurance management enhances strategic planning and prioritisation, assists in achieving objectives and strengthens the ability to be agile to respond to the challenges faced. This can be achieved through the effective understanding and application of risk management frameworks, standards, tools and techniques alongside an effective understanding of the organisation and its operating environment – and this is purpose of the role of Corporate Director for Risk, Assurance and Compliance in MaPS. Reporting into the Chief Finance Officer, you will co-ordinate and monitor the risk, compliance and assurance policies and processes to provide visibility and assurance to the organisation.
The new Corporate Director, Risk, Assurance and Compliance will draw on experience of leading risk management that enables effective delivery within organisations of comparable complexity to MaPS, with the ability to build stakeholder relationships at the most senior levels and influence across the organisation, developing a culture where effective risk management can occur. As one of our new Corporate Directors, you will an experienced leader who can demonstrate a strong grasp of core competencies across risks management, employee relations, development of strategic business cases, contract management, forecasting, financial spend and controls. We need inspirational leaders who can demonstrate experience of taking people with them on a journey of transformational change and be passionate about the impact we have on the lives of people across the UK. Culture is as important as capability, and you will demonstrate a values set in line with those we have developed at MaPS.
