The Salvation Army, Wisbech Corps is looking to recruit a Corps Assistant as part of our staff and volunteer team. This role aims to deputise and assist with the facilitation of spiritual and community programmes and community outreach within the Corps and local community. Applicants must be sympathetic to the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army and be a practising Christian.
Key Responsibilities:
A highly motivated individual to act as a point of spiritual contact at the Corps, meeting the needs of the Corps / local community and showing them the love of Jesus. To provide ongoing pastoral and spiritual support to members of the community and volunteers. To identify pastoral/practical needs and provide appropriate care and support. You will facilitate the Corps' spiritual programme, including children's and young people’s activities and Sunday worship services. In consultation with the Corps leadership team and DHQ, the post holder will undertake other duties as required for the effective running of the Corps.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
- Office administration including word processing and use of Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Reception duties: dealing with telephone enquiries and visitors, responding to agency requests for food parcels and signposting to other agencies.
- Basic financial responsibilities, including maintenance of office petty cash.
This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
