Cost Accountant

Job Description

Robert Half is currently working in partnership with a market leading waste management business in Glasgow that are looking for a Cost Accountant to cover a period of transition.

6 months - £50,000 - £60,000
Hybrid 1 day in the office

Duties and Responsibilities

n
• Enhance purchase requisitioning and PO processes based on best practices.
n
• Strengthen procurement cost coding and monitor it effectively to enable precise cost variance analysis and accurate monthly forecasts.
n
• Coordinate the cost approvals process, ensuring a streamlined and efficient workflow.
n
• Collaborate closely with site teams, fostering effective relationships and ensuring seamless communication.
n
• Interface with Budget owners to manage strict cost control while driving continuous process improvement initiatives.
n
• Demonstrate proactive initiative and take ownership to identify opportunities for improvements, leading to positive changes within the organisation.
n
• Utilise strong data analytical skills to extract valuable insights from financial results.
n

What are we looking for?

n
• In-depth understanding of best practice purchase requisitioning PR and PO processes.
n
• Proficiency in cost coding monitoring and review to facilitate effective cost variance analysis and robust monthly forecasts.
n
• Experience in financial cost control, driving sustainable long-term process improvements.
n
• Ability to create and maintain collaborative relationships across site teams.
n
• Strong interpersonal skills to interface effectively with Budget owners, balancing cost control with continuous process enhancement.
n
