Leading and managing a team of estimators who work with delivery support leads to generate base cost and provision estimates supported with the relevant basis of estimate documentation across the Astute, Dreadnought and SSNA programmesCreate standardised approaches to estimating and working with the leadership teams of Astute, Dreadnought and SSNA programmes to determine estimating maturity plans and making prioritisation decisionsEngaging with external customers through pricing and maturity assessment work providing guidance, direction and supporting team membersYour skills and experiences:Essential:Estimating experience in a leadership rolePrevious experience in leading a team through complex projectsExperience in managing multiple customersExcellent stakeholder management skillsAbility to identify areas of improvementsEducated to at least degree level and/ or equivalent experienceDesirable:Defence BackgroundBenefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The role will therefore create opportunities to implement learning from experience rapidly across the programmes, identify synergies to standardise work and improve the estimating maturity on the programmes.The estimating department is growing in numbers and influence alongside the scope to generate and mature estimate there are a number of improvement projects requiring support which will gain experience and exposure to the wider business and corporation.Some travel may be required.Why BAE Systems?This is a place where you'll be able to make a real difference.
