This is a busy and responsible role providing professional administrative support to both students and staff. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting some of the most renowned courses within Kingston University, and you must be able to provide exceptional customer service to all our stakeholders. The role works with various IT systems and databases including maintaining student and course data via the management system SITS. Our student body is diverse and we work within an ever-changing environment. Flexibility, professionalism and a positive approach to continuous improvement is valued within our team and training will be provided where required.
The Person
The successful candidate must be able to work effectively and proactively as part of a team with minimal supervision. You should have a proven track record of working with IT systems and databases. You will display a high level of customer service and communication skills and the ability to listen and respond effectively to queries, including those of an academic regulatory nature. Experience of providing professional support in a higher education environment would be desirable, but not compulsory for the right candidate. This Directorate plays a vital role in the retention and success of students at Kingston University. By taking a holistic, cohesive approach to the effective provision of services to our 17,000 students, we aim to enhance their experience through support that is effective and also responsive to their changing needs.
We cover three main areas of responsibility – Student Life, Student Wellbeing and the First Response and Administration team.
Student Life provides the University’s fundamental student services while Student Wellbeing is responsible for all wellbeing and safeguarding-related policies. The First Response and Administration Team, meanwhile, ensures the smooth running of all activities.

There are three part time (2 x 18.50 hours per week and 1 x 29.60 hours per week), fixed-term positions available for 12 months. Please state in your application if you wish to be considered for all or just one of the positions.
The starting salary for 18.50 hours per week position is £13,902 per annum (50% pro rata to £27,804 per annum) and the starting salary for 29.60 hours per week position is £22,243.20 per annum (80% pro rata to £27,804 per annum).
