Role: Cover Teacher Start: ASAP Contract: Adhoc, full time and temporary positions available Location: Littlehampton Teaching Personnel work in partnership with an 11-18 coeducational secondary school and Sixth Form graded 'GOOD', in all areas during Ofsted's most recent visit. The school are seeking to educators to join them on a predominantly adhoc basis, to cover periods of absence amongst permanent teaching staff. The school is easily accessible by car or public transport and is located just a 10-minute walk from Angmering train station. Teaching Personnel are working with the school to find suitable educators to assist with cover during periods of staff absence. This role would be suitable for early careers teachers who have recently qualified, or teachers with more experience who are looking for extra work alongside a permanent role. This opportunity would also suit a teacher looking to reduce their workload or working days. I don't have a teaching qualification, is this role suitable for me? The role would be well suited to someone who is an already experienced cover supervisor looking for an exciting new challenge, a learning support assistant seeking career progression, or a person experienced in working with young people in another setting. The school would also welcome applications from graduates who have a genuine desire to work in education and better the lives of the next generation of those who wish to progress to initial teacher training in the future. The duties of a cover supervisor/teacher can be summarised as: Supervising the work that has been set on the lesson plan provided, using the necessary resources that have also been provided. Managing the behaviour of pupils in line with the school's behaviour policy. Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies in line with school policy and procedures. Collecting any completed work at the end of the lesson and returning it to the teacher. Reporting back as appropriate on any issues that arose during the lesson.
