Are you an expert in bringing creative ideas to life through partnership and participation? Are you dedicated to engaging urban communities and using cultural programming to inspire people about nature and heritage?
We’re developing an exciting, new cultural programme exploring the global identity of Londoners through the city’s natural heritage, to reach diverse audiences and address unequal access to nature, beauty and history.
We’re looking for a Creative Producer to programme a pilot phase of our cultural engagement work as part of our national Festival of Blossom as well as a range of other nature-inspired partnerships and creative interventions.
This is a part-time role (22.5 hours per week), and fixed term contract to July 2025
Salary: £40,189 pro-rated to £24,113. The advertised salary is inclusive of the Inner London weighting allowance of £4,465 per annum, £2,679 pro-rata
First stage interview (virtual) – 7th February 2024
Second stage interview (in person, central London) – 23rd February 2024
What it's like to work hereThe London Programme is part of our national Urban Places ambition to play a bigger role in cities. We work with partners, within communities and with colleagues across the Trust to address unequal access to nature, beauty and history, and to put inclusion and diversity at the heart of our programme.
We’re supportive of hybrid working. You’ll have a base in our London office at Savoy Hill House near The Strand / Embankment and get to spend time at some of our beautiful places; there may also be opportunities to work at partner locations. There’s flexibility around your hours of work and opportunities for professional development.
You’ll be part of the London Programme Team and wider cultural programming community in the region and nationally. Due to the nature of this work and the experiences we offer, you'll occasionally need to work evenings and on weekend days, and be happy to travel.
What you'll be doingYou’ll work with the Cultural Programming Project Manager to develop and test a new cultural programme and creative partnerships; scoping, developing and leading activity that uses nature and the natural environment to connect people to the city’s cultural heritage and inspire people to take climate action. You’ll work with a range of partners, funders, organisations and communities to make projects happen and deliver demonstrable impact, at pace and at scale, for the benefit of people and places. You’ll also mobilise National Trust’s operational teams and consultants to support your work.
Starting with Blossom in Spring 2024, you’ll co-create a calendar of activities that involve and engage London’s diverse audiences; secure profile and publicity; and evaluate the programme. Sharing lessons learnt from our work, you’ll measure impact in order to shape a longer-term programme of cultural engagement in London.
Who we're looking forPlease include a cover letter with your application. We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- experience in delivering multi-disciplinary, cross-partner, socially engaged and creative projects, including project and resource planning, team leadership, meeting deadlines, and evaluating impact
- ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships with both internal and external collaborators at all levels
- experience in procuring and managing external consultants and contractors
- self-motivated, organised, good at problem solving and a quick learner; someone who can get involved and deliver on the ground
- experience in recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers to support planning and delivery of activity
- an understanding of working in cities and heritage, the arts or green spaces, ideally with a network of contacts in London
Diversifying our audiences and workforce is really important to us and we value lived experience and character. If you’re excited about this role but you don’t meet every requirement in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway if you have other experience and skills which are transferrable. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
