Then join our dynamic team as a Credit Control Lead and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cash flow!
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and manage a small team of Credit Controllers and ensure the ongoing personal development, succession planning and resilience of the team.
- Oversee the Sales Sub-Ledger and Credit Control function, including client credit limits, month-end close, timely collections, account reconciliations, VAT recording/input for the Group VAT returns and credit note management.
- Management of key accounts, including creating, maintaining, and monitoring customer information, available credit levels and failed credit checks.
- Proactive monitoring, chasing, and recording of expected payments to ensure prompt receipt of cash in line with payment terms, and clear escalation of any anticipated payment delays or issues to enable accurate, timely and realistic cash forecasting.
- Ensure timely posting and allocation of all payments, minimise unidentified cash and ensure accurate customer statements of account.
- Maintenance of the team’s e-archives, including the daily scanning and filing of customer remittance advices.
- Support the Credit Controllers in investigation of both internal and external queries and be a point of escalation for the resolution of these in a professional manner.
Here's what we're looking for:
- Previous experience in a senior credit control role and an understanding of sales ledger procedures.
- Excellent communication and people skills, and able to operate at all levels within the organisation.
- A positive, pragmatic attitude, willing to take a “hands on approach” when required.
- The ability to identify root cause issues and recommend system and process changes.
- Competent to an intermediate level in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
