We are seeking a Credit Risk Specialist to join our client within the Head Office in Glasgow City Centre. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, this role is crucial for following policies and procedures that mitigate Credit Risk and contribute to the company’s risk management goals. This role will suit an experienced Credit Controller, who enjoys the risk management element of their role and would like to expand this to a role fully focused on analysing Credit Risk for the portfolio of customers the business works with.
Day to day of the role:- Monitor and enforce policies and procedures to meet the company’s risk management objectives.
- Evaluate active accounts to reduce or prevent bad debt losses.
- Review and manage credit limits and credit limit excesses.
- Engage with "high risk" customers to agree on action plans for risk reduction.
- Recommend provisions for Bad Debts and build financial models predicting Credit Risk.
- Participate actively in Credit Forums and industry-led discussions.
- Regularly review the company’s Credit Policy, ensuring it aligns with feedback from Credit Forums, our Credit Checking Provider, and current economic/industry trends.
- Provide statistics and reporting to validate the effectiveness of the Credit Policy.
- Rank customers based on identified risk factors and prepare monthly performance and risk reports.
