Who we are
The Bereavement Services Team at St Helens Borough Council run two operational Cemeteries and a Crematorium. Our Operational Team of 3 Cemetery Operatives, 2 Crematorium Operatives and 2 Crematorium technicians support the team in providing all burial and cremation services. The Cemetery at St Helens has been a silver finalist in the Cemetery of the Year awards for the past 4 years, along with an APSE finalist for the best Service Team for the past two years. The Team engages on several Community events throughout the year, such as annual Memorial Services, bereavement community events and open days to promote the service and support available to the bereaved.
Join our team
We are seeking an enthusiastic and positive person with a desire and drive to work within the operational Crematorium team in providing excellent bereavement services. The successful applicant will work as part of the Bereavement Services Team in providing a supportive, calming, caring, sensitive and quality service to the bereaved, members of the public attending the cremation service and visitors.
The hours of work for this role at 37 hours per week, +7.5 hours contractual overtime. These additional hours are to be worked flexibly over the week, Monday to Friday, based on the needs of the service.
