Sri Lankan Street Food Crew Member - Event Catering

We are a dynamic Sri Lankan street food business, renowned for our authentic and delicious dishes. We travel across the UK, bringing the vibrant flavours of Sri Lanka to food festivals, music festivals, and major sporting events. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and professional team members to join our crew and help us share the unique experience of Sri Lankan cuisine with the nation.

Job Responsibilities:

· Assist with loading and unloading of event vehicle, including food supplies and cooking equipment.

· Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for all guests.

· Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene in accordance with industry regulations.

· Maintain a clean and presentable service area, addressing any spills or messes promptly.

· Oversee inventory management, ensuring consistent availability of food supplies throughout the event.

· Possess a deep understanding of Sri Lankan cuisine, confidently answering customer inquiries regarding ingredients, dietary restrictions, and potential allergens.

· Report any safety concerns or incidents to the designated team leader.

· Replenish serving stations throughout the event to maintain efficient service flow.

· Utilize mobile cooking stations to ensure food remains fresh and is served at the optimal temperature.

· Adhere to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.

· Assist with closing procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient breakdown at the end of each event.

Candidate Specifications:

· Passion for Sri Lankan cuisine and a desire to promote its unique flavours.

· Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and deliver a positive experience.

· Strong planning and multitasking abilities to manage various responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

· Self-motivated with a high energy level and a proactive approach.

· Effective verbal communication skills to interact confidently with customers and colleagues.

· Experience in food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and customer service is highly desirable.

· Demonstrated commitment to punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

· Meticulous attention to detail to maintain a clean and organized service area.

· Ability to perform physical tasks, including loading, unloading, and potentially lifting heavy items.

· A UK Driving Licence is a benefit but not mandatory.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: £11.50-£12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
