IGN Entertainment is one of the leading Internet media companies focused on video games and entertainment. IGN reaches more than 360 million monthly users around the world, and is followed by more than 58MM social and YouTube followers. IGN also publishes daily content on 36 platforms including TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat Discover. Established in 1996, IGN is headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices in New York and London. IGN content is localized in 20 languages and 110 countries and hosted on websites and native applications on mobile, connected TV, and Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

The Opportunity

Come join IGN as a Custom Content Manager. We are looking for someone to oversee the process of creating sponsored content for IGN on a one-year Maternity Cover contract.

The Custom Content Manager will work closely with the wider creative solutions team to ensure all projects are delivered on time and to budget. This role thinks up big, creative ideas for clients and is responsible for their proposal in the pre-sales stage, as well as the execution in post-sale, all the while adhering to deadlines and internal guidelines. This role sits within the creative solutions team but collaborates with teams across the business including commercial, legal, editorial and video - both in the UK and in Ziff Davis’ international offices - on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm fun, innovative, and engaging custom campaign ideas which include video, social, written, digital activations (e.g. microsites), and anything else which may fit the needs of the client
  • Lead the development and creation of content across IGN’s platforms (IGN.com, social media, YouTube etc.)
  • Write video scripts and articles as needed using IGN’s tone of voice; experience writing editorially is a must
  • Work collaboratively with the wider content team to develop ideas from inception to delivery, and provide updates on project progress
  • Collaborate with sales leads to decide on the best response to RFPs and write up clear, concise pitch proposals
  • Advise internal and external teams on the feasibility of any given idea and what timelines, budgets, etc. are needed in order to bring a creative concept to fruition
  • Manage the delivery of sponsored content on social platforms, including setting up ad campaigns on Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, YouTube Shorts and Twitter
  • Track promotional budgets for sponsored campaigns, and ensure campaign delivery
  • Capture gameplay footage as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Content creation experience, ideally including scriptwriting for longform and social videos
  • Ability to read a client brief and translate their needs into creative ideas
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Have a creative mind and a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to set and stick to deadlines
  • Ability to work with multiple teams and understand the different requirements from each
  • Take a proactive approach to their work and keep up to date with industry and technology changes
  • Have a passion for video games, movies, and fan culture
  • Experience in digital analytics, and social amplification, is preferred; willingness to learn is essential

Our Culture and Values

At IGN, we believe diversity stimulates creativity, promotes the exchange of new ideas, and enriches our personal and professional lives. We are committed to championing diversity in all that we do, weaving fairness and equity into the fabric of our organization, and achieving a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and antiracist culture where everyone belongs and everyone can thrive.
