Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the world's most successful, purpose-led businesses, our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil and Magnum, as Customer Marketing Executive based at their prestigious office in Kingston-upon-Thames (will involve a mix of working from home and working from the office).

This is a full-time temporary role to last for 6 months (with the possibility it may be extended), working a 36.25-hour week. Depending on experience, this role is paying up to £44,000 per annum, pro rata.

The Away from Home team is the foodservice division of UL leading the dynamic Food Service market with a range of exciting professional food and Ice cream products.

As the AFH Operator Marketing Executive, you will own the creation and execute of the annual channel marketing strategy for the channel you work within. Day to day, your role will consist of briefing and executing marketing activities across all our brands, including Knorr, Hellmann's, Walls, and Carte D'or, amongst others. You will support our digital transformation through creation of ground-breaking b2b digital engagement designed to convert; helping to shape best in class guidelines and contribute to efficient ways of working.

You will work with the wider operator marketing team to bring operator insight and plans to life through trade as well as bringing your expertise of your customers to the wider business internally. Your role is dependent on your ability to communicate well, both written and orally, as well as your passion for driving business growth. In addition, as a marketing professional it is key for you to keep up to date with developments in marketing therefore you will have a full induction and training programme designed for you within UL's leading-edge marketing academy.

The ideal candidate will have the skills to be strategic, creative and able to recommend actions and cross collaborate with others. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you are passionate about providing the best marketing support to our customers. You are a strong team player, networker, able to convince, build commitment and support through your friendly and proactive personality. You have a natural passion and understanding of the role of marketing and working in alignment with cross functional teams to deliver end goals, you can drive great leadership through strategic planning, delivering powerful storytelling and creative activations. You will use insight and front-line experience to help shape the strategy and develop solutions that support business growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collect and feedback insights and trends with regards to the customer to input into marketing plans.
  • Develop and execute annual Joint Business Plans for each key customer including budget investment, promotional and activity evaluation.
  • Support in customer pitches and selling presentations to gain new business or develop and deploy activations to grow existing businesses and ensure continued loyalty.
  • Build marketing to marketing contact interface and relationships within the customers supported by the account manager and at senior levels.
  • Tailor Concepts that help the customer grow, based on insights and Brand Performance.
  • Ownership for planning and implementing activations for UL Away from Home within customer media and digital platforms.
  • Work with external agency partners overseeing briefing and execution of trade artwork on time, in full and to budget.
  • Budget management
  • Keeping in tune with customers and operators by regularly getting on the front line.
  • Integrated member of the wider UKI Marketing, data & digital team to gain new skills, support, and share learnings.

Key Skills Required

  • Experience in FMCG marketing or commercial role ideally where delivery of marketing initiatives has been included.
  • Experience in Food Service is desirable, particularly with contract caterers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A tenacious individual who is willing to hold internal and external partners to account.
  • Ability to remain agile, work with ambiguity and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member with strong collaborative, cross functional communication skills at all levels.
  • Creative and innovative thinker / problem solver.
  • Ability to form long lasting working relationships with a variety of people.
  • A purpose-led individual who can demonstrate cultural sensitivity and personal resilience.
  • Good communication and project management skills.
  • Passion for marketing excellence.
  • Growth-mindset with passion for continuous personal and team development.
  • Degree level in Marketing or Business-related studies is preferred but not essential.

Some occasional UK based travel will be required.
