Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for experienced candidates to work as Customer Service Advisors/Switchboard Operators with an NHS Trust based in Shropshire on temporary assignments. There are several posts available offering full and part-time hours, taking part in a rota system, covering 24-hours, 7 days per week. The posts require onsite working in Shrewsbury.
Main Duties:
- To assist with telephone enquiries from members of the Trust, general public, GPs, Hospitals and other organisations.
- To operate the bleep system, issue and re-programme bleeps in the absence of the Supervisor.
- To be knowledgeable and fully competent of answering and following procedures for all emergency telephone calls/alarms, e.g., cardiac arrest, fire, helicopter landing trauma, paediatric emergencies and major incidents.
- Issue swipe cards for locums/medical students arriving out of hours and weekends and record.
- Work as a team to ensure the smooth efficient running of the department
- Any other duties within the grading of the post as assigned by the Manager.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience of handling telephone enquiries
- Computer literacy
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous NHS/Local Authority/Public Sector experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience in a call centre environment
