My client, a leading professional membership body based in Central London with over 19,000 members of all ages, stages, or disciplines across the UK, is currently recruiting for a Customer Service Assistant.
The Role of Customer Service Assistant
To provide excellent Customer Service to members, answer enquiries received by phone and email, and assist with the department's data management and digital communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer service:
Directly support our members by answering membership queries received by phone, email or post. This includes assisting with the membership mailbox coordination by assigning emails to relevant members of the team and being the first responder to the membership phone line
Help people to join and members to renew or update their details
Help members use the website to access benefits and online journals
Promote membership and represent the association at events such as the London Show, Association Live and student events
Membership retention:
Undertake calls to members to assist in the renewal process and update payments received in CRM
Data administration:
Be responsible for returned mail and contacting members to obtain new address information
Add and update member details in CRM
Assist with the checking of mailing lists
Assist with data protection activities to ensure the association complies with current data protection regulations including GDPR
Provide full administration support to the Head of Membership and Membership Operations Manager.
Assist with account management of group memberships:
Updating large group member details on CRM by setting up new starters and removing/regrading members who have left.
Additional:
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role as may from time to time be decided by the Head of Membership or Membership Operations Manager.
Person Specification
Experience of Customer Service essential
Experience of membership desired but not essential
Excellent communication skills, particularly via telephone and email
Empathic telephone manner
Excellent IT skills, including full Office suite and CRM experience
Familiarity with MS Dynamics and Dot Digital desired but not essential
Aptitude for accurate data entry
Good organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
Attention to detail.
