The role
As a Data Analyst, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Babcock provides services including fleet time engineering, facilities management, waterfront services, logistics and transport within an agreed operating budget, firmly focused on continuous and sustainable improvement in warship and submarine support.
Day to day, you'll collect, analyse and sort of HMBD Clyde's asset data from a variety of sources including matching requirements with investments through Customer Annual Budget Cycles.
- Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the Quality area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
- Engage with and support the teams activities with regards to cost, investment options, whole life costing, asset related risks and policies & strategies in relation to assets.
- Contribute and provide data to assist with the development of risk-based strategies for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, refurbishment and disposal of new or existing assets.
- Assist with improvements to the quality of the Asset Management processes; make available any data which will influence any enhancements needed.
- Aid and influence the asset information strategy pertaining to asset definition standards, asset attributes, asset condition, defects and failures. Preparation of reports as required scrutinising data and recognising anomalies.
This role is full time at 37 hours per week, 8 hours working Monday to Thursday, and a 5 hour day on a Friday and will be based at HMNB Clyde, Helensburgh with hybrid working from home arrangements a few days per week.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Data Analyst:
- You will be a personable individual with a can-do attitude and hold the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Previous experience within asset management and an understanding of it's processes and procedures would be beneficial however, we are happy to train the right induvial.
- Previous experience of dealing with and manipulating large volumes of data
- Awareness of Business processes such as HR, Finance and/or Commercial
- Previous experience one, some or all of the following would be beneficial Power-BI, Excel (intermediate to advanced), Visual Basics for Applications (VBA), SQL or S-Code.
Qualifications for the Data Analyst:
- A HNC or above in Business or an equivalent area of education would be beneficial however, we value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
