Established in 1991, Caterforce is one of the biggest foodservice buying & marketing consortiums in the UK. We source products from a huge range of leading suppliers and manufacturers to support our nine leading independent foodservice wholesalers. From our head office in Macclesfield, Cheshire we provide a central hub for our members supporting both their group buying needs and marketing resource, allowing suppliers to push out a consistent and coherent marketing plan nationwide, with just one point of contact. Our members are fully engaged in the procurement process right from the start. Communication and collaboration is at the heart of every deal we forge and group marketing project we execute. These qualities are very much our key strengths. We continue to invest in every tool at our disposal to build on this. As a group we talk on a daily basis, have access to a live online web console, providing members with key info, presentations, pricing and new product information and are also in the process of developing a Sales Data tool, this will shape the way we both purchase and market going forward.
As a Data Analyst Apprentice you will be working across the group supporting in collating and processing data from various departments.
The job role is varied but the main duties will include:
- Liaise with the Information System Manager on all inhouse data systems
- Support the finance team in the Rebate Management process and with other administrative tasks
- Monitor and follow up the financial return of Caterforce Core Suppliers and collate and process data.
- Assist the Financial Controller in Office and HR duties
- Credit Control duties
- Support with all Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Regularly report to and liaise with the Financial Controller to ensure all Members, Senior Management Team and suppliers requirements are met
- Computer literate, tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work as part of a team

- High attention to detail and high level of accuracy and speed when dealing with data entry

- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 4 or above
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good A levels (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Sciences or Economics.
- Highly organised with the ability to work independently at a fast pace whilst demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
- Experience and confidence using Microsoft packages such as Microsoft Excel.
You will undertake the ground breaking Apprentify Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship.
We have designed our programme to offer you a distinct route into your career path and specialise in areas such as Data Architecture, collecting and cleansing data, produce performance dashboards and reports .
During the 15 months of training, you will learn cutting edge theory and industry practice across 11 carefully structured Modules covering the duties that are required as a Data Analyst:
- Identify data sources to meet the organisation's requirement, using evidence-based decision making to establish a rationale for inclusion and exclusion of various data sets and models
- Liaise with the client and/or colleagues from other areas of the organisation to establish reporting needs and deliver accurate information
- Collect, compile and, if needed, cleanse data, such as sales figures, Digital Twins etc. solving any problems that arise, to/from a range of internal and external systems.
- Produce performance dashboards and reports in the Visualisation and Model Building Phase
- Support the business by maintaining and developing reports for analysis to aid with decisions, and adhering to organisational policy/legislation
- Produce a range of standard and nonstandard statistical and data analysis reports in the Model Building phase
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
- Draw conclusions/Recommend appropriate response/Offer Guidance/Interpretation
- Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders, making recommendations
- Provide regular reports & analysis to different management/leadership teams, ensuring data is used and represented ethically in line with relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR, which incorporates Privacy by Design).
- Ensure data is appropriately stored and archived, in line with relevant legislation e.g. GDPR
- Practice continuous self-learning to keep up to date with technological developments to enhance relevant skills and take responsibility for own professional development
