The Role:
The Operational Support team at M&G Wealth are looking for a high performing colleague to take on an exciting new role as Data Analyst. This person will design, create, maintain, analyse and provide insight on business and management information to meet our ongoing need for data-driven decision making in Operations.
The role will report directly to the Operational Support Manager, and partner with the data & reporting team and Operational colleagues at all levels. As this is a new position, the successful candidate will be able to contribute to the creation of the role & responsibilities as well as developing key performance indicators.
We are expecting the role to include:
- Design, development and testing of new BI/MI views for internal colleagues based on needs assessments.
- Agile, prioritisation, and sprint methodologies to ensure outcome focused, regular, incremental delivery.
- Maintained detailed knowledge of available data sources and how it is appropriate to use them.
- Adherence to business processes and standards to ensure BI/MI produced is of the highest possible quality and suggestion of continuous improvement.
- Documentation and formalisation of all reporting methodology
- Provision of analysis and commentary on BI/MI produced to help internal colleagues understand key deliverables and trends.
- Partnerships business wide, but in particular with data & reporting, customer insight, planning and continuous improvement stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of the Platform, or other Wealth business area.
- Experience of BI and MI technologies including but not exclusive to Excel, Access, Business Objects, R, SQL and Tableau, Power BI and associated technology.
- Proficient at writing formulae to perform calculations in reports
- Good understanding of key business processes
- Good understanding of strategic goals for the business
- Good understanding of project lifecycle
- Good knowledge of the structure of the business and who the key people are
- Excellent understanding of databases and how they work
