About the role:

At Activate Learning we understand the importance of well evidenced decision making, and the quickly growing potential of data analysis to improve this. As one of our Data Analysts you’ll be working to promote our Data Science team, develop the use of data-driven decision making and to analyse complex data to make and present recommendations.

Working with stakeholders throughout our colleges you’ll use your own knowledge of the organisation to proactively identify opportunities for deeper analysis and find new opportunities for us to gather meaningful data or improve our existing data collection functions. This will include considering how our use of data could be improved by machine learning or AI tools to get the most out of our analysis.

Alongside identifying opportunities for deeper analysis, once data has been collected and collated by the team’s report writer, you’ll analyse the datasets provided to write, present and evidence recommendations to stakeholders.

This is a permanent, full-time role working on a hybrid basis, with the expectation to work from our City of Oxford College campus two days per week.

What do you need to be successful as a Data Analyst at Activate Learning?

The successful candidates will have significant data analysis and modelling experience, mathematical qualifications at A Level or higher and experience using Excel to an advanced level. You’ll need to be an excellent communicator with an understanding of how to tailor your message to your audience and used to compiling data visualisations to present your findings.

Ideally you’ll have used Power BI or other data analysis tools, and have further qualifications in relevant subjects like business, IT or statistics. Programming knowledge would be a positive, as well as an understanding of the further education sector. Further technical training in SQL will be available as part of ongoing CPD.
