Form of workData and Software Engineer
As a Barclays Data and Software Engineer, you will work on multiple projects or modules to understand requirements, develop and implement Ab>Initio, Hadoop & MongoDB based batch and real time integration solutions and maintaining them. In this role, you will also be building Cloud based Ab>Initio framework & automation solutions, along with migration of on-prem ETL applications on to Cloud infrastructure.

- Comprehending the agile development methodology and practicing it in day to day work
- Contributing to cost and effort estimation
- Devising ETL/API based strategy and providing solution design options for disparate data integration applications
- Designing and implementing ETL/API solutions with massively parallel processing architecture
- Undertaking analysis of change requests / incidents against applications / products within domain
- Leading story based development & unit test and adherence to all coding standards
- Ensuring delivery of high quality code that achieves consistently high code quality and testing coverage ratings
- Participating and contributing to relevant technical standards
- Reporting progress in JIRA against assigned activities in a timely manner
- Solid knowledge or experience of: Databases – Both Traditional Relational DBMS & NoSQL
- Understanding of Big Data/Hadoop/Cloud based Ecosystem/ Unix & Shell Scripting
- Knowledge of ETL Tools/Technologies such as Ab>Initio/Talend/Informatica/Datastage/Spark
- Experience in Job Scheduling/ RESTful APIs implementation
- Data modelling knowledge
- Knowledge or experience of Deployment on Cloud
- Knowledge or experience of Containerisation
- Knowledge or experience of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Pipelines
