Data Centre Engineer

Your new role
You will be responsible for maintaining the primary global Data Centres for my client\'s international services, supporting HP / Dell hardware on a daily basis. (you must have experience of replacing components on HP DL380 gen 6 (or later) and DELL PowerEdge R740)

You will provide operational support for the Data Centre during a 24x7x365 schedule responsible for addressing faults, incidents and change requests which will be reported to the DCOPS team via the ticketing management system. You will be adhering to SLA\'s and working on installs, moves and changes implemented by the DCOPS tech based on work orders submitted to the IMAC team.
You must have previous on-site experience supporting 24/7 environments, racking and stacking IT infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Network Equipment, Patching, and Cabling, etc) along with experience of supporting HP/Dell servers and storage (finding and repairing faults).
What you\'ll need to succeed
Proficient in hardware operational skills for most systems within the Data Centre.
DP / Dell support experience
Good knowledge of bank services hosted in DC
Skilled in the operation of DC test equipment
Proficient in operation of productivity software packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Competent in racking and cabling server and switch equipment
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of numerous hardware platforms, IT Infrastructure and interdependencies, such as Storage and SAN elements, Unix and Wintel computing platforms, Networking platforms, emerging technologies from both a distributed systems and Data Centre infrastructure level
Experience troubleshooting and repairing hardware issues at the server level
Understanding of change and/or incident management in a similar support function (has experience of supporting software tools)
