The Firm: Our Client, a dynamic organisation are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Compliance Officer to join their risk and compliance team in Tunbridge Wells. Role Overview: As a Data Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm's adherence to data protection laws and fostering a privacy-focused culture. Your responsibilities will include overseeing data protection practices, preventing data breaches, and collaborating closely with their risk & compliance manager, ICT operations manager, and information security engineer to enhance their current data protection strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Safeguard personal data and promote a privacy-focused culture.
- Manage data protection and prevent potential data breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and improve data protection practices and policies.
- Develop and implement guidelines for Data Compliance practices.
- Lead key projects such as digital records management and deploy tools to prevent data breaches.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar Data Compliance role.
- Strong understanding of ISO9001 standards.
- Proficiency in GDPR, Data Protection Act 1998, and related regulations.
- Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations, the Bribery Act 2010, and Criminal Finances Act 2017 is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for efficient processes.
- Proactive approach to staying updated with regulatory changes.
