A Data Engineer is required for our client for an initial 6-month contract. Experience of Mosaic is advantageous.
Our client has identified the need to appoint a Data Engineer to design and develop a data model to enable efficient access to timely data for analysis.
The Data Engineer will be hands-on, with a strong understanding and background in data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques as well as data manipulation tools and technologies. The Data Engineer will have the ability advise and contribute to the project utilising previous experience and will work alongside the Data and Insight Service following best practice processes.
The role will include planning and implementation of the project milestones:
- Analysis and recommendations on source data extraction from Mosaic.
- Implement data flows (Azure Synapse/Data Factory) to connect and transform data for analytics and business intelligence systems (Tableau).
- Write Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) scripts and code and ensure that ETL processes perform optimally.
- Lead on database model, build and management.
- Create and implement appropriate testing regimes to monitor the effectiveness and quality of your work and identify and resolve problems at the earliest opportunity.
- Develop and provide documentation where necessary.
- Build strong relationships and work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather, interpret and analyse Data Engineering requirements.
- Apply best practice development standards and seek out opportunities for efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation.
- Build an automated solution to statutory reporting (Adult Social Care Client Level Dataset – ASC CLD)
The person:
- Significant experience of planning and building data models for Adult Social Care Data, preferably from Mosaic.
- Proficient in database design.
- Ability to write complex SQL statements and write stored procedures.
- Some Programming experience (e.g. Python or PowerShell)
- Experience in translating business and reporting requirements into a fit for purpose data model.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
