- To provide a governance framework and ensure that the data available for Creditsafe’s products has followed the documented strategy about maintaining and improving the quality of information held within a business.
- To work with entity data managers, data stewards and other stakeholders to help improve upon the quality and range of data available to Creditsafe.
- The management of key documentation, liaising with data mangers and data stewards to build the knowledge of each data package.
- Providing support regarding the use of data, particularly in relation to its use in Creditsafe’s products and reselling of data.
- Data Governance Lead – Implementing and enforcing a Data Governance strategy throughout Creditsafe Group by working with the various entity teams and DV team. This role involves working with the data managers and stewards from each entity to ensure each data package is correctly catalogued, analysed and sourced ready for DV development.
- Data Cataloguing – All data packages need to be catalogued from sourcing all historic files, sourcing all file specifications and legal documents.
- Data Profiling – All data packages, existing and new should be profiled within Waterline. Evaluate data and assess for accuracy, completeness, and usability before it is purchased / renegotiated.
- Data Management – Restricting access to data, conducting regular reviews/sampling of data based on data profiling and managing data suppliers making sure they agree to defined SLA’s.
- Management and support – Managing, supporting, and mentoring of other Data Governance colleagues within the Data Delivery team to help them to develop and achieve their full potential.
- Assisting the Analytics team – Providing advice and support to the Analytics team to help them understand data items available to them.
- Supporting entity data teams – Providing support and advice to the entity data teams as and when required.
- Liaising with suppliers – Working with data providers and data outsourcing partners to ensure that any data purchased by Creditsafe is fit for purpose.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in a related subject, or proven relevant experience
I.T. Proficiency
- MS Office or equivalent (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access etc.)
- Databases with an understanding of how they are updated and maintained.
- Data Analysis skills to query databases (e.g. SQL)
- Relevant software packages (open source or purchased) use in statistical analysis, Data Governance or data analysis.
- Communication software experience, e.g. E-mail, Slack, Skype, Zoom etc.
- Internet, Intranet, Share Point etc.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Business Information industry, in particular with a CRA (Credit Reference Agency) will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to effectively develop and manage strong working relationships both internal and external to the business.
- Highly developed communication skills – communicating effectively and in a timely manner using appropriate communication tools and techniques.
- Creativity / Innovation - Develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization and to create new opportunities.
