Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Data Apprentice with Mill Hill School a Mill Hill School is a 13–18 co-educational private, day and boarding school in Mill Hill, London, England that was established in 1807. Based in Boreham Wood.
Job Description:
Support data analysis and reporting processes across the school to ensure effective use of data. Ensure that the data processed is accurate, reliable, and produced in a timely manner. Report any issues with regard to data accuracy or system limitations that impact on data requirements.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Act as a point of contact for staff regarding the school data-related systems, including the MIS and all data related platforms.
- Maintain the School’s Management Information System (iSAMS) for MHS, including the annual rollover process for setting up the new school year.
- Co-ordinate the integration and ongoing development of relevant data, processes, and procedures into the school’s existing information management infrastructure
(systems include but are not limited to: iSAMS, SOCS, and Firefly).
- Liaise with HoDIS and the support team on the setup of pupil usernames and passwords.
- Produce data reports for leaders, colleagues, and other stakeholders on various metrics.
- Produce regular positive and negative behaviour reports (Commends and
Interventions) and produce termly House Commend totals for the Deputy Head
(Pastoral).
- In liaison with the Deputy Head (Academic), import the academic timetables into the MIS ready for the new school year and maintain and change as required throughout the year.
- Manage teaching sets and import pupil data as required, with changes being made throughout the year.
- Assist the school with the production of statutory Census returns.
- In liaison with the Deputy Head (Academic), manage Reporting cycles by designing and setting up report cycle templates for data collection in addition to creating templates for each reporting session.
- Upload reports to Firefly Parent Portal. Set up Parents’ Evening booking system.
- Ensure the integrity of the data stored within iSAMS, liaising with Admissions staff and Office staff to ensure data is correct.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
Skills Required:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with data flow management, data security management, and data integrity.
- Work closely with the IT support staff to ensure the smooth running of data systems.

- Analyse and present customer needs and stories in a clear and structured manner.

- Produce dashboards and reports to aid visualization and comparison.
- Summarise and present the results of data analysis, making recommendations for business improvement.
- Store and archive data in line with data protection legislation.
