Data Platform Manager

Title: Data Platform Manager 
Location: Hybrid - One day per week in London office   
Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package   
  
Our client, a prominent player in the retail sector, is seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Manager to lead their data management and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365), data governance, data visualization tools (Tableau and PowerBI), and the design and management of data lakes and data warehouses. Proficiency in advanced SQL and scripting languages (such as Python) is essential for this role. This position is crucial in ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and utility of their data assets, empowering strategic decision-making across the organisation. 
  
Key Responsibilities 
 

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Data Platforms, including data lakes and data warehouses.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Lead the development of data visualization solutions using Tableau and PowerBI to provide actionable insights for business units.
• Utilize advanced SQL and scripting languages (such as Python) to automate data processes and support complex queries.
• Collaborate with IT, business units, and external partners to align data initiatives with business goals and drive strategic decision-making.

 
Experience / Skills 
 

• Proven experience as a Data Platform Manager or similar role in an FMCG or related industry.
• Extensive experience with ERP systems, specifically Dynamics 365.
• Strong background in data governance, data visualization (Tableau and PowerBI), and data architecture.
• Experience with data lake and data warehouse design and management.
• Proficiency in data management tools and platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, MsSQL).
• Advanced SQL and T-SQL skills and experience with scripting languages (such as Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications 
 

• 5+ years proven ERP experience delivering projects.
• Understanding of core ERP business processes (Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse & Inventory Management, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing).
• Functional experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365, SQL Server, Office 365 environment, Transact SQL, SSIS, MS Business Central, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, PowerShell, OAuth.
• Track record of delivering technical projects covering a number of different disciplines.
• Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations.
• Proven Project Management Methodology experience (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMP).
