Job Purpose:
To work within the Insight and Engagement team to support its core business of coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the delivery of Public Consultations.
Role Responsibilities:
The primary function of the role will be to assist in the:
Data entry of paper survey responses – transferring responses submitted in paper format onto the computer.
Thematic coding of survey responses – reading comments submitted by people responding to the consultation, identifying key points, and categorizing them into themes.
Support other elements of the consultation process, such as assisting with queries and posting out documents as appropriate.
You will be shown how to use the relevant software, provided with a glossary to help you choose the correct themes, and supported by project staff within the unit.
Experience in high-volume Data Processing is essential. Importantly, you should be able to work independently with clear guidance and as part of a team.
An ability to work quickly and accurately, excellent attention to detail, and a positive, 'can do' attitude are important, as is a commitment to the County Council's equality policies.
You will play a key part in representing the views of local people as we consider service change. The role would therefore be of particular interest if you enjoy learning about and understanding the viewpoints and motivations of other people. However, as with any Data Processing, the tasks can be repetitive and need focus, so require a self-motivated individual who is not easily distracted. An ability to process data quickly and accurately is very important.
The role is primarily based in the County Council offices at Elizabeth II Court in Winchester, although there may be some opportunity for remote working once settled into the post and dependent on the tasks being undertaken, as some elements of the role are not suitable for home working.
