About the role
AXA Global Healthcare are looking an experienced Data Protection Officer to manage and lead the delivery of Data Privacy management across the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. With the increase in Artificial Intelligence use across most companies in the UK we're looking for someone with a passion and understanding for AI, as in this role you'll look to implement necessary controls to meet Group requirements for AI use.

What you'll be doing:
Monitoring both local and other relevant Data Privacy and AI Compliance Policy related regulations impacting AGH and adapting the local Data Privacy and AI Compliance Policy to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
As an experienced subject matter expert, you'll provide professional advice and guidance to the businesses on Data Protection and AI Compliance both in the UK, the EU and in globally significant markets
Accountability for communication and reporting to local Data Protection authorities and other relevant regulators on behalf of AGH
Providing expertise on reviewing internal or external confidentiality agreements related to data
Reviewing and monitoring business activities and vendors' contracting/management to ensure compliance with local Data Privacy legislation, AI Compliance and AGH Policy requirements
Oversight of incidents involving Personal Data, including adopting and supporting the implementation of detailed requirements or guidelines to ensure compliant handling of specific matters as deemed necessary
Inclusion in project and process involving a change, performing Data Privacy Impact Assessment, and providing sign-off when satisfied that each project or process is compliant with the Policy and applicable local requirements
Effective interaction with AGH Group entities, supporting them in achieving compliance with applicable Data Protection Regulations and AXA Standards and implementing and maintaining an effective monitoring and oversight structure
Responsible for implementation of the AXA Group minimum requirements on artificial intelligence compliance, including Human agency and oversight, safety, privacy and data governance, diversity, non-discrimination and fairness
Implement AXA Interim Generative AI Policy

About you

What we're looking for:
Suitable experience at a senior level within a regulated financial services company, with education to a professional standard in data privacy or relevant equivalent field
Ability to understand and assimilate complex information quickly and accurately
Ability to develop strong professional relationships with managers at all levels of the business, requiring strong influencing and communication skills, and an ability to challenge both tactfully and in a value adding way
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
A good awareness of the financial services industry (health insurance industry preferred but not essential)
A firm grasp of effective report writing and general written skills
An understanding of AI and its developments, with a strong interest in the subject
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
Please be aware that this position is a Certified Function role under the SM&CR regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
