Job description

We’re on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders. We do that through professional apprenticeships because we believe learning on-the-job creates a more equitable and successful path to careers. We find, train and support talented individuals, wherever they are in their career journey, and equip them with the in-demand tech, software engineering, and data skills to transform their careers and deliver a better route to growth for their employers.

We’ve had some big achievements. We hit 10,000 apprentices in our community - and counting. We launched one of the largest data apprenticeship programs in the UK with Jaguar Land Rover, and we’ve partnered with companies like Mars, Verizon and CitiBank. Not to forget becoming a mission-driven EdTech unicorn after our $220m Series D.

But we aren’t stopping here. Join Multiverse and build the future of learning at work.

The opportunity

As a Data Coach in the Data Fellowship team you will deliver our programme to apprentices who are kick starting their careers in data. In this role, you will lead a mixture of group delivery workshops, group coaching, and one-on-one sessions. You will teach a variety of topics, starting with the data analytics fundamentals such as Excel, SQL and PowerBi, before moving onto data analysis in Python. Your role as a coach is to support your apprentices through their professional development as they develop into a confident Data Analyst.

You could be sitting within one of several Data Programmes that we offer. Specifically in this role, you would be a part of our Data Fellowship or Advanced Data Fellowship depending on your specific technical skills. This would be discussed with you during our interview process.

  • Teach, coach and mentor up to 50 or more apprentices through their 15-month journey on the apprenticeship programme, turning them into the next generation of data analysts/scientists and future leaders.
  • Deliver interactive online workshop sessions, boot camps and hackathons to help apprentices discover and develop their skills for real-world application.
  • You will be responsible for your cohort’s progress through their apprenticeship by tracking and analysing performance and completion elements.
  • Familiarise yourself with your cohorts job, department and function - using your business acumen to provide a highly relevant experience for your apprentices.
  • Need to be able to learn their roles in detail to work with their managers to support them to successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and onto their future careers.
  • Have the opportunity to develop your own technical and pedagogical skills, learning from other coaches and Technical Leads in the programme.

About you:

  • You have experience producing and delivering data projects or teaching others in this area.
  • You have experience and enjoy developing others, educating, mentoring or coaching. You have a track record of doing this in past roles. Any formal experience or credential in these is a bonus!
  • You have experience using Python or another programming language (essential), SQL (beneficial) and PowerBi (beneficial).
  • You are comfortable teaching others how to make the most of the above data tools.
  • You are skilled in discussing the application of data and data tools in industry.
  • You believe passionately in social mobility and equity, and you want to inspire apprentices to kickstart their careers.
  • You align closely withand can share examples of how you have demonstrated them in dynamic, environment.

To ensure all coaches who join Multiverse are truly set up for success, you’ll spend the first 2 weeks in your new role going through the fully bespoke Multiverse coach academy. You will learn the pedagogical elements of a Multiverse delivery session, the - teaching and facilitation approaches we use, and the core coach and technical grounding skills to support your apprentices. At the end of Academy, you’ll be ready to launch your first cohort of Multiverse apprentices.
