What will the successful candidate be doing:
Sellafield Advanced Business Analytics enables underpinned decision making by providing the required insight at the right time using data science methods, simulations modelling and operational research techniques. SABA’s capability directly impacts key decision making across the business on some of the most challenging projects in the UK.
As a SABA Analyst at Sellafield, you’ll play a crucial role in extracting valuable insights from complex data sets. You’ll utilise existing tools and simulation models to undertake analysis, as well as developing new models, business tools and other OR solutions, both in-house and with the supply chain.
Our analysts work closely with stakeholders including customers, sub-contractors and fellow analysts to ensure that all project deliverables are met to time and cost. From scope development and conceptual design, through to validation, analysis and implementation, you’ll work on the full lifecycle of projects, additionally preparing reports for customers detailing analysis findings and making recommendations. Your work will directly impact safety, efficiency, and decision-making across the site.

Essential Skills

- Well versed in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to organise, analyse, and disseminate data sets. The ability to use this data to produce informative, unambiguous reports for internal and external audiences.
- Honours degree in STEM subject or relevant work-based experience such as:
chain.
Delivery of technical work packages to specification, time and cost.
Experience of working across a wide range of stakeholders and communicating effectively.
Desirable Skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including VBA
- Competency in simulation modelling (Flexsim, Witness), R, ETL applications (FME, Alteryx etc), Dashboarding (Qlik, Power BI etc), SQL
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness, TRAM and Lean manufacturing
- Awareness of and the ability to apply statistical techniques
- Experience of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
- Monitoring and auditing data quality
