Agio Ratings Agio Ratings is a VC-backed startup creating counterparty risk management solutions in the world of digital assets. We believe the crypto industry needs quantitative tools to measure counterparty risk as it moves past Twitter and Telegram as its main sources of risk signals. Our team of PhD researchers have developed quantifiable measures of default risk and have built an industry-leading record of predicting defaults. The Team The founders hail from world-class institutions such as Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Oliver Wyman, and the Federal Reserve. We created the firm in 2022 and now have ten staff with ambitious growth plans. We are excited to bring on an innovator who will rate the risk of the fastest-growing players in the ecosystem using advanced machine learning and statistical models. The Role We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our London-based research team. The role will involve: Cleaning and modelling data sets to extract insights and make forecasts Data sets will include: Web traffic and social media feeds On-chain wallet transaction flows Ad-hoc primary data sources Methods will include: Regression models (linear, logistic, multivariate) Time-series analysis (ARIMAX, Cox Hazard) Natural language processing (RoBERTa) Consulting with internal and client stakeholders to understand their needs Authoring presentations to present to clients, regulators and investors Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate will have: BA/BSc, MA/MSc or PhD in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or related field The ambition and passion to work commercially in a start-up environment Programming experience with R and/or Python, including common data science libraries such as: dplyr, ggplot2, data.table, shiny (in R) :scikit-learn, statsmodels and pandas (in Python) Experience working with cloud computing platforms like AWS, including the ability to run scripts and interact with MongoDB The ability to work with APIs or scrape data from online sources Familiarity with crypto and blockchain technologies Benefits First-year compensation of £38-50k, depending on qualifications, plus employer pension contributions and annual salary reviews Opportunity to acquire a stake in Agio via a share option scheme with tenure driven vesting pattern Develop skills in a creative, stimulating, supportive and informal culture for a fast growing, cutting-edge business Flexible work patterns, including scope to work from home and to your own schedule Apply Now No agencies.
