(Dbs) - Project Support Officer

This exciting role of Project & Change Implementation Officer will sit within the current Remedy Project Team based in Norcross Blackpool or Kentigern Glasgow. The Post holder will assist the C2 Senior Project & Change Implementation Officer, C1 Project Manager with a variety of projects within the Operational delivery arm of the Veterans UK Transformation programme. This includes the McCloud Remedy project and working in collaboration with the wider DBS Transformation portfolio.
The Post holder is responsible in assisting with enabling the delivery of projects ensuring objectives are achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
The Post holder will be responsible for the design and writing of business processes to support proposed solutions for projects and/or initiatives within the transformation programme. This includes reviewing complex pensions information, understanding and assisting with decision making and producing management information. The role will require someone who is proactive and able to multitask different responsibilities whilst delivering at pace.
The Post holder has a role in project governance and will work with stakeholders to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered ensuring benefits are realised. Further, the Post holder will assist in the raising and management of Change Requests in relation to projects and BAU including Legislative and Continual Business Improvement.
The Post holder will require leadership skills to assist with delivery of complex projects utilising limited resources and will have the ability to multi-task across a number of projects at the same time. The role requires an ability to analyse requirements sometimes with limited information and make effective decisions that withstand internal and external (NAO/Regulator) scrutiny.
Responsibilities
The Post holder will maintain an overarching awareness / input into the wider DBS Transformation Portfolio delivery team.
Delivery – Enable Project delivery of agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
Project Management – Assist the C2 Senior Project & Change Implementation Officer with day to day management of the project.
Business Documentation – Assist in the Development and drafting of Business Documentation with input from specialists as necessary.
Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are adhered to and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
Project Performance & Controls – Assist in creating delivery objectives for the team and assist with the develop and maintenance of the Project Plan. Manage performance and report progress to C2 Senior Project & Change Implementation Officer and Project Manager
Resources – Identify skill requirements; deploy and develop resources. Utilise shared Change team resources, minimising impact on BAU.
Stakeholder Management – Identify and engage stakeholder relationships. Actively manage internal and external relationships encouraging participation.
Risks & Issues – Identify and update risks and issues escalating to the C2 Senior Project & Change Implementation Officer as appropriate. Work with related projects to understand interdependencies.
Governance – Help support effective governance and decision-making using SME knowledge.
Provision of Policy & Advice – Contribute to the decisions of others by providing policy advice/guidance and SME knowledge of process.
