Job description

Job Title: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Advisor

Location: Tower Hill, London with flexible hybrid working. This role is predominantly home based with the need to work on site restricted to one day per month. Additional onsite attendance is at the discretion of the postholder.
Salary: £16,977 (2 days per week) or £25,466 (3 days per week) ,Inclusive of London Weighting if the postholder’s home location is in Greater London

Contract type: Part Time,Fixed Term(Maternity Cover)

Hours: Between 15 and 22.5 hours per week (to be agreed with postholder)

Role Outline

This role is an opportunity to be actively involved in reinforcing our Respect, Inclusion and Belonging (RIB) strategy that ensures Refuge continues to fulfil its commitments to building and nurturing an organisation that encourages and values equity and inclusion in our workplace and across all aspects of our work.

The role holder will be expected to actively engage with stakeholders from all parts of the organisation to ensure the strategy’s key pillars underpin all activities supported by our mission, values, and behaviours. They will be responsible for continuing to embed a culture of inclusion and belonging where everyone feels respected and valued.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working in collaboration with the People and Culture team and senior managers to support the delivery of our RIB Strategy and action plan, monitoring and reporting on the plan.
  • Contributing to the development of engaging EDI content, producing written material including reports, presentations, and other resource materials.
  • Ensuring we consider an EDI lens across all elements of the employee lifecycle and all activities within the organisation.

For us it is important that you are passionate, committed and care about the work Refuge undertakes. Not all roles require previous experience in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector. You may be able to bring relevant experience from another industry or transferable skills from a different type of role or volunteering/community experience.
