Job description

About the role:
We are seeking a Debt Advisory Director to provide advice to clients on debt-related matters, contribute to financial strategy, and drive the overall success of our clients' financial goal.
Debt advisory is a new offering for our clients; however, the individual will be part of a team with a wide variety of skill-sets and different work backgrounds, including corporate finance professionals, and M&A individuals.
The team will be able to provide support to the chosen candidate by assisting with the preparation of financial models and Information Memorandums. As the Debt offering grows, we hope to hire focused resource to support growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage Debt Advisory projects, providing strategic guidance to clients on debt financing options.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis and due diligence to assess the financial health and risk profiles of clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique financial needs and tailoring debt solutions accordingly.
  • Provide expert advice on capital structuring, refinancing, and debt restructuring to optimise clients' financial positions.
  • Collaborate with teams across MKS, in particular the Business Recovery & Insolvency team, to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
  • Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range recommendations for clients.
  • Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Consider new ways of thinking, including leveraging the latest technology to create value for clients, MKS and broader stakeholders.
  • Provide team members the support needed to development their knowledge in Debt Advisory
Skills & expertise:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional qualification preferred.
  • Experienced Debt Advisory professional working at an accounting firm or independent Debt Advisory / corporate finance firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets, debt instruments, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Relevant recent experience within the financial services industry (eg. Bank, alternative lender, advisory).
  • A desire to drive marketing and business development for the Corporate Finance team.
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to maintain a strong network in the market.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable communicating with all levels.
  • Flexibility in terms of working across a diverse range of industries and roles.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Motivation to help drive the growth of Debt Advisory and develop a team of professionals.
