Debt Recovery Officer

We have partnered with an esteemed national law firm, as they're seeking a dedicated and experienced Debt Recovery Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. As a vital member of their firm, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and reporting to the Recoveries Manager in managing and recovering outstanding invoices owed to the firm by clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to the success of their firm in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Recoveries Manager in the management and recovery of outstanding invoices owed to the firm by clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing, to negotiate payment plans and resolve outstanding debts.
• Conduct thorough research and investigation to locate and contact debtors.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications and actions taken regarding Debt Recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including legal teams, to escalate complex cases and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Provide regular reports to management on the status of Debt Recovery efforts and recommend strategies for improving collection processes.
• Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection practices.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a paralegal or legal executive, preferably in Debt Recovery or a related field.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with database systems.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
• Proactive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in law or a related field.
