Dental Nurse

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Dental Nurse to work full time in our growing oral and maxillofacial surgery/Orthodontic department. The ideal person will be an enthusiastic hard working person. In addition to this, excellent communication skills are essential, as is the love of people and a willingness to put the patient at the centre of all they do.
This role is for a highly motivated individual who is able to understand patients with dental phobias and complex needs. Working well within a team, communication, organisational and dexterity skills are key to this role.

• To be responsible for providing assistance to the consultants and colleagues in all specialties.
• To assist and maintain efficient and effective care of patients in line with best practice and current guidelines.
• To ensure the highest standards of hygiene is always maintained in line with Trust guidelines and policies.
• To prepare clinical areas with specialist equipment and supplies ready for the Consultant clinic team. Along with preparing clinics in advance to ensure an organised smooth-running department as possible, which will include checking results have been received in time resulting in communication with other departments being required from time to time.
• Supporting Maxillofacial theatre lists in Treatment centre.
• If appropriately qualified carry out dental radiological examinations as indicated and adhering to the Radiological Guidelines.

The successful applicant will assist with the day to day running of the department and provide chairside support, so that a high quality, efficient patient care is delivered at all times, whilst ensuring compliance is maintained to a gold standard.
