Job description

Macclesfield Orthodontics are looking to recruit a Dental Practice Manager, to provide full time support for the opening of our New Orthodontic practice in Macclesfield to open in July 2024. The owners are well established Orthodontists with processes and procedures already in place and a supportive team. The practice will be located in the centre of Macclesfield and will be newly refurbished to an excellent standard. The positions are long-term opportunities with job security for the right candidates as our new practice location come with secured NHS contracts for the next ten years.

Desirable applicants will have experience in the running of a Dental/Orthodontic Practice.

You will have:

  • At least one years’ experience within the dental industry
  • Have proven practice management skills
  • Have good financial skills and able to manage costs
  • Excellent people management skills and be familiar with HR regulations and procedures
  • Be familiar with CQC requirements
  • Have excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in dealing with both staff and patients.
  • Have good computer skills and be able to work with our Practice Management and Compliance software, Word and Excel

Your key responsibilities will include:

Assist the practice owners with the initial setup of the practice. The right candidate will treat the new practice as their own and will I'm sure step up for any challenge that may come their way during the mobilisation of the practice setup. There will be a wealth of existing staff members to call upon for help and guidance in the setup of the new practice. Including Practice managers, office managers and senior nurses;

Enable good communication in the practice, including practice meetings & to ensure the practice is a great place to work;

Be able to manage difficult conversations & deal promptly with issues when they arise;

Deliver training/development for the team as part of our central training policies.

Develop & maintain third party relationships;

Effectively manage & resolve patient complaints.

Overall responsibility for the management of the Practice and supported by our Area Manager/ Director.

Cashing Up Completion and Banking

Health and Safety administration

Clinical audits

Organising staff Rota’s.

Coordinating suitable treatment plans with patients according to differing dental issues and following our call structure to discuss financial payment plan options.

Schedule patient consultations and follow up appointments

Update the patient database with patient activity such as initial consultations, treatment outcomes and follow up appointments

Correspond effectively and accurately with the dental team regarding patient progress and updates.

Identify and escalate priority issues

Provide patients with helpful and accurate treatment information

Use good listening skills

You will be responsible for completing the Practice Managers Checklist.

A bonus scheme is in place to recognize excellence.

This is a permanent and full-time position for the right applicant, to start immediately

Salary : will be negotiable depending on experience
