Casanovas Recruitment Solutions have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Care Home Managerto join a large, reputable and award-winning Nursing Home in Colchester. As the Deputy Home Manager, you will be expected to Lead and inspire staff by providing operational and clinical matters to the Home whilst offering outstanding care.
The Deputy Manager/Clinical Lead will deputise for the Care Home Manager in their absence and fully support them in the day-to-day operations.
The role:
Reporting to the Care Home Manager / Clinical Lead, you will have knowledge of CQC requirements and be responsible in leading nurses in managing clinical services whilst ensuring the home provides high-quality care and support to all residents as well as ensuring nursing interventions are research based and underpinned by NICE and other leading healthcare bodies.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading on all clinical matters for the Care Home and to be consulted on organisational clinical matters as required
- Supporting members of the Nursing and Care teams to deliver good clinical outcomes by advising, coaching and developing staff and leading on complex care issues, ensuring relevant standards and protocols are understood and implemented at all times
- Ensure smooth running of the home by supporting the Home Manager to meet budgets set and work with staff closely to ensure they understand their budgetary obligations
- Continue to develop clinical practice relating to MCA and DoLS, End of life Care, diabetes and any other health care needs provided for
- Oversee support of people who are funded 1-1 ensuring regular reviews and least restrictive approach alongside the Home Manager
- Ensure service delivery meets the requirements of the contract, regulatory requirements as set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
- Work proactively and in close partnership with Quality and Governance Leads to continuously improve service delivery for customers.
- Effective communication with customers, staff, commissioning teams and other stakeholders demonstrating positive and sustainable relationships.
- Oversee and manage Safe reporting to CQC, Safeguarding and other regulatory bodies
Skills required:
- Previous experience of deputising in the running of a large residential nursing home
- Experienced Registered Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with current NMC Pin Number and who can demonstrate their knowledge and experience of working with older people or people with cognitive impairment
- Experience of dementia care, heart disease and stroke patients and cognitive impairment
- Excellent leadership skills
- Clinical supervision skills
- Must have full driving licence with access to own vehicle
