My client offers a salary £30,000 – £36,000 (depending on experience) includes sleeps if required.
As a Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will endeavour to create a home environment that exceeds the needs of the children and young people, your main purpose will be to efficiently and Ideally, you will have the passion to achieve excellence within our client’s ethos of service, quality, equality and partnership, demonstrating a commitment to close co-operation with colleagues and joint work in partnership with the children.
The main duties of the Deputy Children’s Home Manager:
· To deputise for the manager in their absence.
· Assist with assessing referrals.
· To lead in adhering to procedures in the event of an emergency, e.g. fire, accident, missing person and to keep and make reports when such action is taken.
· Be responsible for the administration of medication.
· Ensure the safe keeping and recording of all medicine.
· To maintain the rota and assist in the delegation of duties to staff.
· To maintain all records in the home.
· To assist in the weekly budget preparation and to monitoring expenditure.
- Conducting regular team meetings where service progress and person centredness is assessed, managed and developed.
- Maintaining a team of appropriately trained staff to meet the needs of each individual.
- Ensuring that statutory services have conducted appropriate assessments.
- Actively engaging families and external professionals where appropriate
- To support the manager to deliver services which are legally compliant in ass aspects including (but not exclusively) regulatory bodies (Ofsted), health and safety legislation, mental capacity act, POVA.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required of the Deputy Children’s Home Manager:
· Recent experience working in a residential Ofsted environment.
· Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willing to work towards).
· Level 3 Diploma for Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (or equivalent qualification).
· Full UK Driving Licence.
