Support the National Director of Health Protection and Screening Services/ Executive Medical Director in the discharge of their responsibilities as a member of the Executive Team and Board of Public Health Wales Support the National Director in their role as a senior responsible owner for key priorities in the Public Health Wales strategic plan and in their role as a contributor to other strategic priorities Deputise for the National Director of Health Protection and Screening Services as required, including attending the Public Health Directors Leadership Group; and act as a listening ear and critical friend Contribute to the development and implementation of an integrated Health Protection and Screening Services Directorate Lead and co-ordinate specific programmes of work across the directorates of PHW, including leadership of Directorate Programmes as determined by the National Director Support the Executive Medical Director, as part of the Office of the Medical Director, working closely with the Deputy Medical Director to deliver professional leadership, development and regulation for the public health workforce and all medical, dental and multi-professional consultant staff working for Public Health Wales Support the National Director in their responsibilities as lead executive for emergency preparedness, resilience and response (EPRR), taking a lead for Civil Contingency Partnerships and management of EPRR function and staff Nurture Strategic Public Health Partnerships through engagement: With external partners, including Welsh Government, Local Authorities, NHS Wales, Universities, Other UK Public Health Agencies to facilitate programme effectiveness and delivery To optimise work across the four nations for Health Protection and emergency planning as part of the formal governance and informal arrangements Foster collaborative working between the Directorate of Health Protection and Screening Services and other directorates thereby ensuring that Public Health Wales delivers services recognised for their national leadership within the UK and their impact internationally Work closely with colleagues in public health across Wales and elsewhere in the wider United Kingdom to support the further development of Public Health Wales national role Support the National Director in continuing and further developing the Directorates contribution to both UK wide collaboration and international/ global health.
