Job description

Are you an Information Security expert looking to work for one of the UK's largest charities?

About the role

We’re looking for a dynamic, customer-focused Information Security Manager to join us to lead in the delivery of our information security strategy. Driving forward the use of good architectures and best practice in areas such as Identity and Access Management and Software Development.

The role will cover people, process, and technology across all areas of British Heart Foundation (BHF), providing project consultancy from an Information Security viewpoint, managing Information Security risk, and cross covering the rest of the team during absences.
Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Need more help balancing your work and home life? Talk to us about what flexibility is available at the application or interview stage.

About you

With a solid understanding of information security across all domains. It will be beneficial if you have specific experience in some of the following areas: Identity and Access Management, Security Architectures and DevSecOps.

You'll be comfortable with leading change and challenging where appropriate to drive good security standards.

A team player who enjoys working with others to achieve the team goals.

To be successful in this role you’ll also have experience of the following:
• Microsoft Azure experience
• Microsoft Defender Security Stack experience
• DevSecOps experience
• Identity and Access Management experience

With excellent communication skills, you’ll be able to liaise with people at all levels of the business and external partners. You’ll also have strong analytical skills, able to see a problem and identify solutions.

You’ll have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, able to develop strong working relationships quickly and with ease. You’ll be confident and able to work independently and will have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical people in a clear manner.

About us

At the British Heart Foundation, we are focused on the urgent need to fund more research into heart and circulatory diseases like heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia and the conditions that cause them, to find answers fit for 21st century challenges. We are independent, have more than fifty years of breakthroughs under our belts and we won’t stop until we beat heartbreak forever.

We value and respect every individual’s unique contribution, celebrate diversity, and make inclusion part of what we do every day.

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy, Igniting Change, along with our internal EDI group, Kaleidoscope, and a growing number of employee network groups (our Affinity Groups), help us create an environment where all our colleagues and volunteers can succeed.
