Job description

Are you an established Deputy Kitchen Manager, or an experienced Chef or Line Chef seeking development? We’ll hedge a bet that you’re able to spin 100 plates at once, not literally – of course, but you’re someone who thrives under pressure and loves change.

As clichéd as it sounds, you’ll believe that delivering memorable experiences really is all about the small details. How will you do this? Well, you’ll make sure your regular Friday customer, Piotr gets their bacon almost burnt to a crisp as you know he likes it; or you’ll perfect an exciting, new, vegetarian specials dish that a regular thinks is super Instagramable as soon as it’s put in front of them.

What you’ll be doing as a Deputy Kitchen Manager

  • Supporting the Kitchen Manager with daily operations in your kitchen
  • Supporting your brigade in changing it up by recreating the meals developed by our central Food and Beverage team
  • Consistently finding innovative ways to drive financial performance without compromising on quality
  • Monitoring portion and waste control in addition to labour productivity to maintain profit margins
  • Supporting with leading and developing your brigade of Line Chefs, whilst being Robin to Batman (your Kitchen Manager)
  • Ensuring you and your team deliver high standards of food and meet health and safety regulations.

What’ll make you a great fit for this Deputy Kitchen Manager role

  • You’ll already be an established Chef de Partie or Line Chef seeking their next challenge
  • Whilst it would be great if you had experience working in a hotel environment, this isn’t essential, what is important is your outstanding cooking and leadership skills gained within a fast-paced environment
  • You will have a solid understanding of produce and ingredients and the ability to influence profit margins
  • With a passion for change, you have the ability to create specials that are both creative and profitable, and you’re excited by a company that will trust you to run with this!
  • You will be pragmatic, flexible, adaptable, hardworking and FUN!

Our amazing benefits

  • Do you enjoy travelling? A fun weekend away? We've got you covered with preferential rates
  • Alternatively, if we do not have a hotel in that location, why not take advantage of our International IHG discounts?
  • We also have shopping and discount opportunities in retail, restaurants, and events (because we know life isn't all about work).
  • Are your family and friends envious of your deals? Why not give them a discount code for hotels throughout the Kew Green Hotels estate
  • FREE membership to the Leisure Club
  • Progression and room for growth, with opportunities in the UK and abroad - we have training, courses, and updates at your fingertips!
  • KewFest, Employee Appreciation Week, and Awards evening are all annual events.
  • Progression and room to grow, with opportunities across the UK and internationally
  • Flexible attitude and working hours.
  • Mental Health Support with our 24/7, 365 Employee Assistance Line
