We are currently searching for a Deputy Manager to join Beacon Childcare on a permanent basis. Beacon Childcare specialises in providing care and support to children and young people of all ages to ensure the health, well-being, and safety of all their service users. The organisation strives to create a safe and fun environment for not only the service users, but for their staff and everyone involved. As a Deputy Manager, you will be working closely alongside the Registered Manager, assisting, and maintaining the workload, as well as prioritising the wellbeing of all service users.
What you'll need to succeed (Essentials):
- Obtained your Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- Obtained or willing to complete your Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a residential setting, working with children and young people.
- At least 6 months experience of supervising staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written to manage records, appraisals, and the supervision of the team.
- Able to effectively manage and lead a team to ensure best practice.
- An understanding of policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure the home is compliant with regulations.
Additional essentials:
- Relevant experience in the UK.
- A full UK Driving Licence as travelling throughout the UK may be required at times.
- Satisfactory DBS check with children barred list.
- Satisfactory references.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager to ensure the day-to-day running of the home is adequate and the needs of the service users are met at all times.
- Provide high quality care services to support all children and young people living in the home.
- Ensure all service users have individual care plans which have been carefully developed in order to meet their needs and to ensure person-centred care.
- Ensure the safeguarding, individual rights, and equality amongst the service users.
- Supervise and provide guidance to all staff members to promote development and progression.
- Attend to any staff issues and alert the Manager.
- Assist the Manager with ensuring that all training is completed and up to date for all staff.
- Assist the Manager with the selection of recruitment.
