The role
As a Deputy Team Leader - Avionics, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for the coordination of scheduled and unscheduled support bay avionic and electrical maintenance activities and the supporting administrative duties within the department including Output Reporting, SQEP management, absence reporting and AMC compliance in support of HFS contract at RAF Valley.
Day to day, you'll ensure that all support bay avionic/electrical maintenance activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner, delivered in line with the maintenance programme and to the standard laid down in the approved maintenance data, as well as:
- Lead Avionic/electrical trade development at RAF Valley, supporting apprentices, developing new and existing staff knowledge through both theoretical and practical methodology and contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching/instructing materials.
- Contribute to maintenance planning forums to ensure that assets are delivered to forward and depth maintenance departments on time, identifying risks to the schedule and sourcing suitable recovery solutions.
- Ensure that all maintenance equipment, spares, and tooling are serviceable and available to maintenance staff.
- Ensure that all quality management system processes are robustly adhered to including tool control, staff competence and maintenance recording.
This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Valley.
Essential experience of the Deputy Team Leader - Avionics:
- Minimum of 10 years engineering trade experience, including a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
- Training in relevant discipline Mechanical/Electrical to City and Guilds Level or level 3 equivalent (completed an apprenticeship)
- Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet.
