To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. To work in a collaborative manner and liaise with other professionals and agencies to ensure a high quality service for patients. To lead and monitor the performance and work of the nursing team. To provide a stimulating environment for patients and carers. To ensure the effective running of the Ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.
