Design Assistant

Reporting to Senior Design.

Working closely with Pattern Cutting, Product Development & Production teams

Full-time role based in Studio Nicholson London office.

The Role

We are recruiting a Design Assistant to work on both Women’s & Men’s Collections.

For the right candidate this is a brilliant opportunity to be a key design team member.

Duties will include:

• Assisting the design team with all aspects of the menswear and womenswear collections from concept to final development.

• Creating detailed accurate technical flat drawing & colour renderings.  

• Responsibility for all CADs, ensuring these are available in the correct format for technical packs, sales & line sheets.

• Preparing clear presentation boards and documents ahead of cross-department meetings.

• Attending fittings and sign off meetings, ensuring all sketches, boards and line-sheets are kept up to date.

• Undertake seasonal design research as briefed by design.  

• During busy periods assisting in pattern room – draping, cutting & making toiles.  

• Ownership of fittings & meeting prep – steaming, pressing & hanging garments.

• Assisting on Lookbook, Campaign & E-commerce photoshoots where required.

• Calm with an organised and methodical approach to tasks. Excellent presentation skills with strong attention to detail Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task whilst being mindful of deadlines. Adaptable with willingness to learn & grow Keen wider interest culture & design Hands on approach, enjoys working in a team.

REQUIREMENTS

- Fashion Design Graduate – BA or MA Level

- Strong portfolio with refined handwriting.

- Strong presentation skills

- Experience working in a comparable design studio.

- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop

- Good knowledge of Excel

- Eligible to live & work in the UK
