Design Assistant (Fixed-Term) Job in Kensington, London

A Design Assistant job is now available in Kensington, with a multidisciplinary studio specialising in luxury residential projects. This is a great opportunity for a designer looking to develop their knowledge and skills as part of a leading team.

The practice is a reputable interior design and architecture studio, with year of successfully delivering exquisite projects in the most affluent parts of London and worldwide. They are looking for a creative Design Assistant to join their team on a Fixed Term contract basis.

Role & Responsibilities

• Supporting Mid-Weight and Senior Designers in running and delivering projects
• Assisting with managing the sample library and the supplier database
• FF&E Procurement including sourcing furniture, raising purchase orders and chasing suppliers
• Designing and visualising bespoke furniture
• Building a network of relevant suppliers, manufacturers and good product knowledge
• Working on /developing their skills in AutoCAD/ArchiCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch-Up, Esti-PC and Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience within the luxury residential sector
• Must be able to quickly and easily learn from the seniors
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able to professionally and confidently liaise with suppliers and third parties
• Must have a good eye for design and great attention to detail
• Ability to complete tasks independently with supervision from seniors
• Ability to run FF&E budgets with the supervision of seniors
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe Suite, Esti-PC and Microsoft Office. ArchiCAD experience preferred but not essential.
